Salma Hayek
Salma Hayek, a Mexican American actress born of Spanish as well as Lebanese parents and is Mexican. Salma Hayek grew up in Mexico to a wealthy Roman Catholic family. At the age of a young girl her dream was to be an actress watching the movie "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.' While at Mexico City's Universidad Iberoamericana prepared her for an acting career in films. The first role she had as an actress came in the Mexican telenovela 'Teresa.' Her role was featured in the movie "Desperado" with Antonio Banderas after arriving in Hollywood. In the following years, she starred in "Fools Rush in" as well as "Wild Wild West" and "Wild Wild West" among others. In the film 'Once Upon A Time in Mexico the actress reprised her role as 'Desperado.' She later founded her own production company called Ventanarosa. Her first film was the Mexican "El Coronel, No Tiene Quien Le Escriba. The film later became Mexico's official submission to the Oscars for Best Foreign Film. She also served as the executive producer for 'Ugly.' Her nomination was for Outstanding Guest actor (Comedy Program) at the 59th Primetime Emmy Awards. She also endorses products such as 'Avon and Revlon as well as her own cosmetics line, haircare products and skincare products under the name "Nuance". She has also helped to raise funds for vaccines to stop infant or maternal tetanus.
