Lisa Edelstein was an American actor who gained notoriety as the star of Fox's House medical drama. Her family was from Wayne and was raised in a strict Jewish tradition. At the age of 18 she moved into New York City to study at Tisch School for the Arts. But very soon she began to be engaged in the city's nightclub scene and made enough noise that she was recognized by the media, simultaneously, she became aware of the devastation of AIDS. Then, she combined her talent and fame with her writing skills and composition abilities to create a show called Positive Me. Awake on the Wild Side was her next assignment. When the show was over the show, she began appearing on the film and television industry, beginning with small roles. She gradually established her place as an actor.
