Dolly-Parton
Dolly Parton escaped the struggles in her early life through her imaginative and creative imagination. Before she learned to write and read Dolly Parton was composing her own songs. After 8 years of age, she was playing her first guitar. In the age of 11 she started singing at Knoxville Tenn's local radio station. Her first album was recorded within the same calendar year with Gold Band Records, a tiny independent label. As a student in high school, she made her name in the local community, yet she yearned for having a bigger stage. She moved to Nashville the day after graduating in 1964. The first charting record she had with Monument Records included Dumb Blonde and Something Fishy both in 1967. Porter Wagoner had been looking for female performers to join his syndicated show from the beginning. Parton joined Grand Ole Opry 1969 after signing to RCA Records. Parton left the show however, in 1974 due to her albums on her own like Joshua Coat Of Many Colors and Jolene outsold their collaborations. Parton composed I Will Always love You to Wagoner after their breakup. It made it to No. It was the first time a song hit the top spot.
